What is Energy Efficient Lighting?
According to the latest code of building regulations (Part L), an energy efficient light is light fitting that will only accept a lamp with a luminous efficacy of 40 lumens per circuit watt. an energy efficient lamp holder will only accept energy efficient lamps and no others.
Part L also states that in new build dwellings 25% of all habitable rooms must have energy efficient light fittings. More and more often fittings chosen are LEDs with consumption as low as three watts for three LED clusters.
